Vice President of Tax

About the role

Patria is seeking a Vice President of Tax to lead its global tax function across multiple jurisdictions. The role combines strategic tax planning, compliance oversight, and support for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring the Group adheres to local and OECD guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tax compliance and ancillary obligations for subsidiaries in Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Chile, Uruguay, and Colombia, including FATCA, CRS, corporate income tax, VAT, and other regional taxes.
• Lead tax planning initiatives to design efficient tax structures and operations across the Group.
• Oversee transfer pricing activities, including agreement reviews, legislative monitoring, financial projections, and FAR analysis.
• Direct tax aspects of restructurings, new mergers, and acquisitions, coordinating with external legal advisors and preparing tax memoranda and presentations.
• Coordinate tax audits, support the Legal Team, and manage annual group tax audits.
• Prepare tax notes, disclosures for financial statements and annual reports (20‑F), and maintain tax policies and procedures.
• Ensure SOX controls related to taxes and provide technical support for tax‑related technology implementations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in tax, with strong knowledge of Brazilian taxation, international tax, and OECD transfer‑pricing rules.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law or Accounting.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in a Big 4 environment and familiarity with general accounting is desirable.
