Senior Production Engineer (Plant Engineering / Power / Project Management)

About the role

GateSource HR's Caribbean Division is recruiting, through a key client, an experienced Production Engineer to lead the development and execution of a Capital Program. The program expands and upgrades production systems and facilities to support load growth, improve reliability and safety, enhance operational flexibility and reduce system losses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Engineering Services capital projects for the Production Division.
• Supervise and review new installations and modifications to civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems against internal and industry standards.
• Prepare, update and monitor technical standards for electrical, mechanical, control and instrumentation systems in the generation network.
• Develop scopes of work, design specifications and detailed engineering plans aligned with project management processes.
• Enforce company safety procedures and standards for employees and contractors.
• Provide technical leadership in the Production area and engineering support to other departments, plus occasional internal training.
• Take part in engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing of production systems, and provide on-call support.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors and consultants, and guide team members in their tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in plant engineering projects within the power utility sector.
• Registered Professional Engineer or working toward recognized professional accreditation.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and presentations.
