Certifying Technician 2 (Avionics)

About the role

Cayman Airways is looking for a Certifying Technician 2 (Avionics) based in George Town. The role supervises aircraft maintenance work, ensures it meets airworthiness and company requirements, and acts as a hands-on supervisor of the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, direct and supervise aircraft maintenance functions assigned by the Duty Engineer or Maintenance Controller, ensuring timely and efficient compliance with airworthiness and company requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance work under supervision is completed and certified in line with regulatory and company requirements.
• Monitor the adequacy and suitability of personnel, tools and equipment, and make recommendations where needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aircraft maintenance, airworthiness procedures, company requirements and industry technical developments.
• Monitor the development and on-the-job training of staff, and supervise them with a high level of professionalism, productivity and discipline.
• Perform the duties of the Duty Engineer when required.

Required profile

• A current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's license without type rating issued by the CAA CI or another licensing authority under OTAR Part 66.53.
• ATA Spec 104 Level 3 Avionics training on the B737-8 MAX and at least two years' experience as a Certifying Avionics Technician in a similar capacity.
• At least six years of total experience as a licensed aircraft technician, including at least three years on the B737-8 MAX.
• Good command of English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work on call, nights, weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.

Required skills

• Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Level 3 Avionics certification (ATA Spec 104) on the B737-8 MAX.
