Assistant Underwriter

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Underwriter to join our underwriting team. Reporting to the Manager, Underwriting – Producer Solutions, you will help process quotations, policy documentation, endorsements and renewals while ensuring compliance with underwriting, KYC and service standards. This role offers a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail and proactive support are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and administration of quotes, policies, endorsements and renewals for Cayman business.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and issued within agreed service standards, including KYC requirements.
• Maintain high‑quality data in core systems such as PURE, supporting underwriting, actuarial and reinsurance reporting.
• Act as a point of contact for brokers, partners and internal teams, handling administrative queries and follow‑ups.
• Support underwriters and business development resources by preparing files, organising submissions and obtaining required documentation (valuations, surveys, proposal forms, KYC).
• Track renewal preparation, update data, and monitor pipeline progress to maintain visibility of workload.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining auditable records.
• Provide general administrative support and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in insurance administration or underwriting support preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Well‑organised with ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with brokers, partners and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the PURE underwriting system.
