Accountant

About the role

Vanguard Risk Solutions is seeking an Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations in its George Town office. You will ensure accurate recording of transactions, maintain the general ledger, and produce timely financial statements to support the firm’s insurance brokerage activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions, post journal entries, and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and close month‑end.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for management reporting.
• Support regulatory, insurance carrier filings, and audit documentation.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to provide accurate financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, CA) or progress toward one is an asset.
• Prior experience in insurance, brokerage, or financial services, preferably in a small‑to‑mid‑sized firm.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
