IT Technician

About the role

Tortuga Rum Company is looking for a proactive IT Technician to support the IT Manager across its corporate office, retail stores and bonded warehouses in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The role is hands‑on, multi‑site and focuses on delivering reliable, secure technology for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support via phone, email and in‑person, logging and resolving tickets within agreed service levels.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, peripheral and mobile device issues.
• Manage user accounts and access in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365, and set up IT for new starters and leavers.
• Install, configure and maintain POS workstations, keeping item, pricing and inventory data up to date in NCR Counterpoint.
• Terminate, test and label structured data cabling and keep network documentation accurate.
• Apply patches, firmware updates and support server maintenance, backups and restores.
• Deploy laptops, workstations, POS stations and mobile devices while maintaining the IT asset register.
• Support IT projects, system roll‑outs and testing, and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, help‑desk or technician roles.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet FCP or Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills, especially with non‑technical users.
• Ability to work independently, juggle priorities and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport for site travel.

Required skills

• Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune or SCCM.
• TCP/IP networking and structured data cabling installation, termination and testing.
• NCR Counterpoint or similar retail POS system.
• Service‑desk or ticketing system usage with good documentation habits.
• Use of AI tools for troubleshooting, documentation and automation.
