Busser / Server Assistant

About the role

A restaurant in Grand Cayman is looking for a Busser to support its wait staff and set up dining areas. The role involves serving plates, glasses and silverware, refilling beverages and cleaning tables, so that daily operations run smoothly and guests have a pleasant dining experience. It suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced way of working and wants to start their career in hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare dining areas before guests are seated
• Decorate tables with candles, napkins, linens and flowers
• Place tableware and condiments on tables
• Serve water and welcome snacks such as breadsticks
• Refill beverages and take orders
• Remove dirty utensils and replenish them as needed
• Provide special silverware sets for families with young children
• Clean and reset tables after guests leave
• Maintain health and safety regulations in kitchen and dining areas

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a fine dining restaurant
• Experience as a Busser, Food Runner or another entry-level restaurant role is a plus
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays
• Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
• Ability to multitask and stay calm and professional in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Good command of English

Required skills

• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
• Ability to work in a high-volume restaurant
