Engineering Supervisor - Sustainability

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman is looking for an Engineering Supervisor - Sustainability. The role drives the hotel's sustainability initiatives by implementing environmental programs and ensuring adherence to The Ritz-Carlton standards. It works with the Director of Engineering, hotel leadership and third-party consultants to build strategic sustainability plans, and covers energy conservation, water reduction, waste management, recycling and other resource-efficiency initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor sustainability metrics, perform trend analysis and prepare reports and documentation for environmental certifications and audits
• Coordinate and monitor sustainability projects and external partners
• Collect, maintain and analyze sustainability data and ensure compliance with sustainability requirements and corporate reporting standards
• Support the development of disaster response protocols and assist in hiring, training, scheduling and coaching staff
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment, calibrate controls and gauges, order and stock parts, and inspect fire sprinkler valves, alarm systems and life-safety equipment
• Respond to guest repair requests and follow company safety and security policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related field
• At least 2 years of related work experience; hotel engineering, building operations, energy management, BMS/BAS, utilities or engineering projects preferred
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Previous experience in sustainability, engineering, facilities management or a similar role
• Knowledge of sustainability practices, energy conservation, water management, waste reduction and environmental compliance
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Experience collecting, analyzing and reporting environmental performance data and sustainability metrics
• Experience coordinating projects, audits, certifications and cross-functional sustainability initiatives
• Computer skills including Excel, Windows and PowerPoint
• Strong communication, organizational and customer-service skills
