Audit Director – Asset Management

About the role

This senior leadership position within Grant Thornton Cayman’s audit practice focuses on directing audits for Asset Management clients. The role requires proven experience leading audit teams serving the insurance, reinsurance and broader financial services sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and lead audits for a portfolio of Asset Management clients.
• Engage with clients and respond to their needs promptly.
• Inspire and develop audit team members at all levels.
• Advise clients on technical audit, accounting and business process matters, including conducting technical research.
• Drive new business through firm‑wide development activities and personal industry networks.
• Contribute to managing the firm’s business by developing people, processes and new opportunities.
• Share ideas with the leadership team to support high‑quality growth.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA / ACA / ACCA / CPA with at least 8 years of Asset Management audit experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field (advanced degree a plus).
• Proven record of attracting, hiring, retaining and directing an audit team.
• Experience in top‑tier audit firms is a plus.
• Strong analytical and technical audit skills, proficient in US GAAP, IFRS, ISA and US GAAS.
