Communications & Development Manager

About the role
The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands is looking for a Communications & Development Manager to lead its integrated communications function and translate public engagement into stronger membership, partnerships and financial support. Reporting to the Director, the role combines strategic communications, media relations and development of sponsorship, donor and grant programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Gallery’s communications and marketing plan, overseeing website, newsletters, campaigns and digital channels.
- Lead institutional messaging, media relations and reputation management to protect and enhance the Gallery’s public profile.
- Supervise the Social Media Officer, setting channel priorities, content standards and performance expectations.
- Manage the membership programme, including acquisition, renewal, retention strategies and CRM administration.
- Prepare sponsorship proposals, grant applications, cases for support and funder reports.
- Coordinate cultivation and stewardship activities with the Director, Board and programme colleagues.
- Oversee an agreed portfolio of sponsors, donors, grants and fundraising initiatives.
- Use audience, membership and development data to evaluate performance and inform decision‑making.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, development, arts administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in communications, membership or fundraising.
- Proven track record of delivering multi‑channel communications and audience campaigns.
- Experience preparing sponsorship proposals, grant applications and funder reports.
- Strong written, editing and presentation skills with ability to engage media, donors and corporate partners.
- Experience supervising staff and managing multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets.
- Commitment to Caymanian art, culture and the Gallery’s mission.
What we offer
- Annual salary range of CI$60,060 – CI$69,396.
- Health and pension contributions.
