Audit Manager - Digital Assets

About the role

Moore is looking for an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit engagements focused on digital‑asset funds, blockchain businesses and Virtual Asset Service Providers. The role combines deep audit and financial‑reporting expertise with a solid understanding of the unique operational, valuation and regulatory aspects of the digital‑assets sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of external audit engagements for digital‑asset funds, blockchain enterprises, VASPs and alternative investment structures.
• Lead planning, execution, review and completion of audits in accordance with ISAs, US GAAS, relevant digital‑asset guidance and Moore quality‑control policies.
• Review audit files, financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure technical soundness and risk focus.
• Apply technical judgement on asset existence, wallet control, custody arrangements, valuation of illiquid tokens, staking, DeFi, lending, mining, tokenised structures and related disclosures.
• Prepare and review IFRS and/or US GAAP financial statements, including accounting for crypto assets under IAS 38, IAS 2 and ASC 350‑60.
• Oversee extraction and integrity of exchange, custodian and blockchain data using crypto sub‑ledger platforms, data analytics and blockchain analytics tools.

Required profile

• Significant experience in audit and assurance, preferably within investment funds or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of digital‑asset operations, valuation methods and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to coach junior staff and collaborate closely with partners and directors.

Required skills

• International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (US GAAS).
• Financial reporting standards: IFRS, US GAAP, IAS 38, IAS 2, ASC 350‑60, ASU 2023‑08.
• Experience with blockchain analytics tools and crypto sub‑ledger platforms.
• Data analytics proficiency for audit testing.
• Understanding of SOC 1 and ISAE 3402 service‑organisation controls.
