Audit Director – Digital Assets

About the role

This is a senior Audit Director position focused on digital assets within a leading Cayman Islands firm. You will lead a portfolio of digital‑asset audits from planning through sign‑off and act as the primary liaison for clients, fund administrators and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end audit engagements for crypto funds, custodians, exchanges and other virtual‑asset service providers.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, fund administrators and regulators, ensuring compliance with CIMA’s upcoming auditor approval rules.
• Oversee audit planning, execution, reporting and sign‑off while maintaining high quality standards.
• Mentor and develop audit team members, fostering a positive and fun culture.

Required profile

• Fully qualified auditor (CA, CPA, ACCA, SAICA, etc.) currently holding an Audit Director role with a digital‑assets specialization.
• Licensed (or eligible for licensing) as a CIIPA practitioner in the Cayman Islands.
• Minimum 5 years of management‑level audit experience of regulated financial institutions, including digital‑asset funds, custodians, exchanges or trading platforms.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience auditing digital‑asset existence and ownership, wallet and private‑key controls, blockchain confirmations, custody arrangements and SOC reports.
• Expertise in valuation of illiquid tokens and assessment of IT and cyber controls.
• Strong working knowledge of the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, CIMA’s VASP regime, AML/CFT requirements and audit obligations under the Mutual Funds and Private Funds Acts.
