Audit Director – Asset Management

About the role

This senior leadership position within Grant Thornton Cayman Islands’ audit practice focuses on directing audits for asset‑management clients in the insurance and reinsurance sector, while driving business growth and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and lead audits for a portfolio of Asset Management clients.
• Engage with clients and respond to their needs promptly.
• Inspire and develop audit team members at all levels.
• Advise clients on technical audit, accounting, or business‑process matters.
• Drive new business through firm‑wide development activities and personal networks.
• Contribute to the firm’s growth by developing people, processes, or new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA / ACA / ACCA / CPA with 8+ years of relevant Asset Management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business‑related field; advanced degree a plus.
• Proven record of attracting, hiring, retaining, and directing an audit team.
• 8+ years of direct experience in financial services, preferably with a top‑5 audit firm.

Required skills

• Proficiency in US GAAP.
• Proficiency in IFRS.
• Knowledge of ISA standards.
• Knowledge of US GAAS standards.
