Purchasing Supervisor

About the role

The Purchasing Supervisor leads the daily purchasing and receiving functions to guarantee timely procurement of goods and services, accurate inventory control, and seamless operational support. This position oversees both local and international sourcing while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the Purchasing and Receiving team to meet inventory, productivity, and delivery targets.
• Process, review, approve, and expedite purchase requisitions and orders.
• Coordinate local and overseas purchasing, including order placement, shipment tracking, customs documentation, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and evaluate quotations.
• Verify purchasing documentation and ensure three‑way matching with finance.
• Monitor inventory levels, enforce FIFO practices, and support cost‑saving initiatives.
• Train and coach team members on inventory procedures, health and safety, and company standards.
• Participate in meetings, audits, process‑improvement projects, and special assignments.

Required profile

• 3–4 years progressive experience in purchasing and receiving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in hospitality, hotel, resort, or fast‑paced food‑service environments.
• Proven track record managing perishable products, food & beverage items, and operational supplies.
• Demonstrated ability to handle both local and international procurement.
