Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

The Senior Financial Accountant will ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial information for multiple subsidiaries within the Foster Group. Acting as the Finance and Accounting Subject Matter Expert, the role blends deep accounting knowledge with system leadership to drive efficiency and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for assigned entities, maintain ledger integrity and review journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensure timely reconciliations, resolve balance‑sheet discrepancies and coordinate with operational teams for accurate data.
• Develop expert knowledge of the Group’s accounting systems, lead system training, support implementations, upgrades and testing, and identify automation opportunities to improve reporting and controls.
• Provide guidance to junior staff, review their work for accuracy, foster a collaborative environment and support the development of accounting competencies within the team.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting for multiple entities, preferably within a group structure.
• Strong understanding of applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to analyse financial results, investigate variances and support consolidation processes.
• Experience acting as a system SME, delivering training and driving process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally with IT, vendors and business stakeholders.
