Chef de Cuisine – Senior Culinary Leader

About the role

Island Naturals is looking for an experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead culinary operations across multiple locations in the Cayman Islands. This senior leadership position combines strong culinary expertise with commercial acumen, people management and process ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead kitchen teams across all sites, ensuring consistency, quality and adherence to operational standards.
• Recruit, coach, conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary matters for culinary staff.
• Develop and maintain food‑costing, portion control, waste management and margin monitoring processes.
• Oversee inventory ordering, receiving, stock counts, storage and waste control.
• Create and enforce SOPs, systems and processes across locations.
• Design menus that balance creativity, brand standards, efficiency and profitability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years professional chef experience with senior culinary leadership.
• Proven track record managing multi‑location operations and teams.
• Strong people‑management and HR skills, including coaching and performance reviews.
• Deep understanding of food costing, inventory control and commercial kitchen performance.
• Proactive, accountable leadership style with ability to implement systems independently.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel for costing, budgeting and operational reporting.
• Microsoft Word for SOPs and business documentation.
• Email and digital communication for professional correspondence.
• Experience with inventory, ordering and operational management systems.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong professional communication.
