Associate – Finance & Corporate (Cayman Islands)

About the role

Walkers is seeking a qualified Associate to join its Finance and Corporate team in the Cayman Islands. The role offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge legal matters for high‑profile clients across a broad range of finance and corporate transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technically sound, responsive advice on finance and corporate matters including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, energy, credit, debt, venture capital, cryptocurrency and blockchain.
• Advise on corporate transactions such as joint ventures, acquisitions, series financings and reorganisations, and support senior counsel and partners on complex deals.
• Develop and expand client relationships, generate revenue, and contribute to the firm’s knowledge base through practice notes, precedents and participation in seminars.

Required profile

• Qualified in the Cayman Islands or another Commonwealth jurisdiction with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in a medium to large law firm.
• Upper Second‑Class (2.1) honours law degree from a Tier 1 university preferred.
• Proven track record in managing complex transactions, business development, and meeting billing targets.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with legal precedents, time‑keeping and billing systems.
• Ability to mentor junior lawyers and lead business‑development meetings.
