Litigation Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Litigation Associate to join a growing offshore litigation firm in the Cayman Islands. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality legal support across a range of contentious matters and work closely with senior lawyers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research, draft court documents and review client documentation.
• Communicate with clients, counsel and courts, preparing cases for hearings and trials.
• Handle disputes in insolvency, restructuring, commercial matters, fraud, asset recovery, regulatory enforcement, trust disputes and ADR.
• Advocate in court for appropriate applications and support senior counsel as required.
• Manage cases efficiently, delegating tasks to associates, partners and paralegals.
• Contribute to business development initiatives locally and internationally.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies, risk management and billing procedures.

Required profile

• Legal qualification from the Cayman Islands, the UK or another common‑law jurisdiction.
• At least 5 years post‑qualification experience in litigation, preferably in insolvency, restructuring or commercial disputes.
• Strong drafting, research and written/verbal English skills.
• Knowledge of time‑recording and billing disciplines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with research platforms, document management systems and data rooms.
