Methods & Temporary Works Engineer (M/F) – Cayman Islands

About the role

We are looking for a Methods & Temporary Works Engineer to join our project team on a large‑scale luxury hotel and residential development in the Cayman Islands. Reporting to the Construction Management Team, you will define, optimise and coordinate construction methods to ensure technical performance, schedule adherence and safe execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed execution schedules for structural works, construction methods and equipment deployment.
• Define construction methodologies, project phasing, work cycles and execution procedures.
• Prepare site installation studies, lifting equipment plans and temporary works drawings.
• Identify and specify formwork systems, shoring, safety equipment, lifting devices and concrete placement solutions.
• Participate in technical and economic evaluation of construction methodologies.
• Supervise Methods Technicians and CAD Designers, and coordinate with specialised equipment suppliers.
• Design, approve and monitor temporary works such as scaffolding, excavation support and temporary structures, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Perform technical risk assessments and support construction teams in implementing selected solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction methods on major building projects.
• Experience on hospitality, high‑end residential or luxury developments is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques, formwork, shoring and lifting operations.
• Proven expertise in design and management of temporary works.
