Temporary/Locum Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse

About the role

This temporary/locum position is for a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care on a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role supports patient monitoring, treatment preparation, and coordination with the multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, record and promptly report any changes in patients' condition to the physician.
• Maintain accurate and detailed clinical documentation and patient care records.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including nutrition and physical activity.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Facilitate learning experiences for nursing students and disseminate ward‑round information to staff.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and assist during procedures.
• Check, administer and record the use of dangerous drugs in accordance with hospital policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years’ NICU experience.
• NICU certification and registration in Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia to practice in the Cayman Islands.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
