Patient Care Coordinator - Radiology

About the role

The Patient Care Coordinator in Radiology provides outstanding customer service to patients and families, ensuring they understand appointment details and financial responsibilities, including collection of co‑payments at the time of service.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients, schedule appointments, manage referrals and pre‑registration.
• Escort patients to and from appointments and confirm insurance eligibility.
• Answer phone calls by the third ring using standard etiquette and respond promptly to emails.
• Collect co‑payments, process deposits, post payments, and balance the cash drawer.
• Audit charts for correct demographics and insurance information, update addresses, and generate patient statements.
• Educate patients and families on services, payment methods and arrange payment plans when needed.
• Ensure accurate CPT coding and coordinate with billing as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; diploma in Healthcare Administration or Medical Terminology preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
• Familiarity with health‑insurance guidelines and basic mathematical skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Access.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
