Manager, Pensions

About the role

The Manager, Pensions supports the Board of Trustees of the Chamber Pension Plan by providing governance, regulatory, and operational oversight. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Management & Relationship Development, the role ensures that service providers meet contractual expectations and that the Plan complies with all legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to the Board and its committees on pension governance, legislation, and operational matters.
• Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and follow‑up on action items.
• Monitor outsourced service providers against contracts, SLAs, and KPIs, and escalate issues as needed.
• Track regulatory submissions, maintain governance records, and support internal and external audits.
• Analyse operational reports, develop dashboards, and recommend improvements to governance processes.
• Develop and deliver educational presentations on pension legislation, fiduciary duties, and retirement planning to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, Public Administration or a related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in pensions, governance, compliance or financial services.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the National Pensions Act, related regulations and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Experience coordinating Board or Committee meetings and supervising staff.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of pension legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to prepare and present detailed reports and briefing materials.
