Junior Sous Chef – Luxury Resort Kitchen

About the role

The Junior Sous Chef will support the culinary leadership at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, ensuring high‑quality food experiences for guests in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs in preparing and quality‑controlling a variety of cuisines.
• Monitor inventory, rotate stock, and help minimize waste.
• Perform regular quality checks before service to meet hotel standards.
• Guide and support line cooks, maintaining a positive kitchen atmosphere.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of culinary experience in a luxury resort kitchen.
• Culinary degree or diploma; ServSafe and Food Handler’s certifications preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Proficient knife skills.
• Effective operation of kitchen equipment.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
