Information Technology Helpdesk Apprentice

About the role

This entry‑level apprenticeship supports the daily operation of IT systems in a hospital environment. You will assist staff with basic technical issues, maintain equipment, and begin learning to support clinical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line IT support to staff via in‑person, phone, or email, handling passwords, logins, printers and email access.
• Set up and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers and scanners, including basic troubleshooting of hardware.
• Learn to support hospital clinical systems such as patient management and electronic records, ensuring uptime and patient safety.
• Follow IT security policies, assist with account setup, and help protect confidential patient data.

Required profile

• High school diploma with passes in Math and English; pursuing tertiary IT studies (e.g., CompTIA, A+, Microsoft Fundamentals).
• Strong interest in healthcare, good communication skills, professional appearance and ability to handle confidential information.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work flexible hours during busy periods.
