Consultant Cardiologist (Full‑Time)

About the role

Due to continued patient growth and increasing demand for cardiology services, we are seeking an additional Consultant Cardiologist to join our established team. This is a rare opportunity to help develop the cardiology service in an internationally accredited private hospital offering outstanding care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive cardiology service covering prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
• Participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota and cover colleagues’ annual leave and authorised absences.
• Contribute to medical audit, clinical quality improvement and continuing professional development.
• Manage day‑to‑day care of medical in‑patients and patients presenting acutely.
• Ensure data quality and compliance with hospital policies, procedures and accountability arrangements.
• Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and department management.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Completion of specialist training in cardiology or interventional cardiology.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑residency practice in a busy cardiology setting.
• Eligibility for medical registration in the Cayman Islands (registration without additional examinations is available for applicants registered in Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK or the USA).

Required skills

• Diagnostic cardiac imaging and interpretation.
• Therapeutic coronary interventions (angioplasty, stenting).
• Device implantation, including pacemaker and ICD placement.
• Management of acute and elective cardiac cases.
