Assistant Vice President, Personal Lending

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Personal Lending will lead a diverse portfolio of personal lending facilities, driving growth and net return for the bank. This senior position involves managing a team, developing products, and supporting the unit’s business plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain efficiency and accuracy while delivering high‑level client service and cross‑selling bank products.
• Support the Vice President in business‑plan development and manage new and existing personal lending products.
• Coach, develop and review performance of personal lending officers and administrative staff.
• Ensure full documentation of facilities and proper collateral instructions to credit risk management.
• Exercise delegated lending limits and provide guidance on loan queries.
• Handle client inquiries promptly, resolve issues, and track product performance and market trends.
• Adhere to audit guidelines and manage departmental reporting, delegating tasks as appropriate.

Required profile

• University degree and/or recognised banking qualification.
• At least seven years of banking experience, with three years in consumer/personal lending at a managerial level.
• Proven ability to make independent credit decisions and analyse risk.
• Strong organisational, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a busy environment meeting tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
