Assistant Underwriter – Property and Casualty

About the role

Cayman First is seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Underwriter to support the Property & Casualty Personal Lines unit. You will provide front‑line service to clients with auto and home policies, handling inquiries, policy changes, and renewals while supporting the underwriting team.

Key responsibilities

• Greet walk‑in clients, answer calls and emails, and resolve personal lines inquiries accurately.
• Assist in preparing, processing and delivering new policies and timely renewals.
• Review policy documentation for accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance before issuance.
• Guide clients on coverage options, billing, endorsements and other service‑related questions.
• Process policy changes, updates to personal/contact information and coverage limits.
• Identify cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities to enhance client protection.
• Maintain organized records of interactions, policy changes and correspondence in the insurance management system.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher; insurance‑related coursework or certifications (e.g., Cert CII) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of customer‑facing experience in insurance or a related service industry.
• Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities and a proven track record of client‑focused service.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with customer management software.
