Senior Immigration Specialist

About the role

The Senior Immigration Specialist will support both internal HR immigration and client immigration service needs for Conyers in the Cayman Islands. The role requires deep familiarity with Cayman Islands immigration regulations, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to balance client‑facing responsibilities with internal HR priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit work authorization applications and renewals for internal staff and external clients, ensuring compliance with Cayman Islands immigration regulations.
• Maintain tracking systems for permits, liaise with Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC), and oversee the Firm’s Business Staffing Plan to align staffing allocations with business objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Cayman Islands immigration, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as a subject‑matter expert, manage full immigration cycles, and mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Cayman Islands Immigration Law, work permit categories, permanent residency and post‑PR pathways.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and immigration/case‑management databases, including the JobsCayman portal.
