About the role
To support the delivery of high-quality legal advice and client service across a broad range of matters, while developing technical expertise, commercial awareness and strong relationships with clients, intermediaries and colleagues.
Key responsibilities
- Provide thoughtful, clear and technically sound legal advice.
- Confidently field legal questions from clients and intermediaries, working with junior and senior fee earners to prepare expert advice promptly.
- Develop an in‑depth understanding of Ogier's standard documents and firm views and contribute to their development.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, intermediaries and team members, delivering excellent client service.
- Prepare fee matter estimates and proposals, monitor the scope of matters as they progress.
- Ensure timeliness of billing and debt collection.
- Manage time, effort and resources efficiently to maximise efficiencies.
- Consider regulatory and compliance issues at all times and report concerns to senior management.
- Contribute to knowledge management, ensuring contributions are accurate and current.
- Build knowledge and experience in relevant practice areas to the highest standards.
- Provide support, guidance and mentoring to more junior team members.
- Contribute to internal projects and initiatives identified by senior leadership.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6+ years post‑qualification experience.
- LLB (Hons) from a reputable institution with at least a 2:1 classification.
- Relevant experience in a leading law firm covering investment funds, private equity, regulatory advisory or general corporate and commercial matters.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
