Registered Nurse – Prison, ACU, ER, Dialysis, Mental Health, Wound Care

About the role

The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide direct, evidence‑based care across a range of specialty areas, including prison health, acute care units, emergency department, dialysis, mental health, wound care and school health. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in George Town and may involve work in hospital, outpatient, community and correctional settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapy and other treatments while monitoring patient responses.
• Document all care activities in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals and community partners to coordinate care.
• Participate in clinical rounds, infection prevention and control initiatives, and quality‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years’ RN experience in one or more of the listed specialties.
• Active registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, patient assessment and care‑planning abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
