Loss Prevention Officer

About the role

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for employees and guests in a hospitality setting. The role involves patrolling the property, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents to protect people and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
• Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire life‑safety systems.
• Lock and unlock property entrances and assist guests with room access and ADA accommodations.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR, and coordinate with EMS as needed.
• Diffuse guest or employee disturbances and call for outside assistance when required.
• Complete incident reports, shift summaries, and maintain confidentiality of all security documentation.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.
• Escort unwelcome persons from the property while maintaining orderly operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a security officer, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• High school diploma; military, police or emergency services background is a plus.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications meeting local licensing requirements.
• Fluent English with ability to write clear reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience operating CCTV and other monitoring systems.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
