Finance Analyst

About the role

Join the Finance Department and help drive the team’s business strategies by delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. You will work closely with management to ensure financial targets are met and risks are managed.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor internal and external financial reporting for reasonableness and accuracy.
• Prepare the Monthly Reporting Package on time, including detailed reviews and analytic commentaries.
• Analyze financial results to identify significant variances and resolve financial risks.
• Produce macro‑economic trend reports and ad‑hoc specialised reporting as required.
• Execute planning and forecasting methodologies, supporting management in target preparation and analysis.
• Assist with the annual profit planning exercise and monthly forecasting cycles.
• Provide budgeting oversight to ensure effective profitability controls.
• Deliver insightful expense‑trend analysis to support proactive expense management.
• Manage intercompany charge‑outs, reporting monthly against plan and investigating variances.
• Support ad‑hoc analyses, queries and reporting to inform decision‑making.
• Supply monthly/quarterly information to Scotiabank Head Office and respond to related queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CGA).
• Strong analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Solid accounting/financial judgment gained through formal training or on‑the‑job experience in a financial institution.
• Advanced computer literacy with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suites.
• Strong organisational, written and verbal presentation abilities.
• Professional interpersonal skills, judgement and tact.
