Consultant Accident & Emergency Physician – Caribbean Private Hospital

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Accident & Emergency to join a private hospital on a Caribbean island. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care to a diverse patient population in a fast‑paced clinical setting while upholding patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate assessment, resuscitation and stabilisation for acute medical and traumatic cases.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop comprehensive management plans in collaboration with specialist colleagues.
• Lead, supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and nursing staff on emergency protocols.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care for admitted and referred patients.
• Participate in on‑call rotas and respond to mass‑casualty incidents and public‑health emergencies.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (e.g., ABEM, CCFP‑EM or equivalent).
• 3–5 years post‑residency experience in a high‑volume Emergency Department.
• Valid, unrestricted medical licence or eligibility for licensure in the Cayman Islands.
• Eligibility for medical registration in the Cayman Islands (provisional registration available for qualified applicants from listed countries).

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
