Automotive Installation Technician

About the role

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking a hands‑on Automotive Installation Technician to join its fleet‑technology team. You will work directly with vehicles—cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers—to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and related equipment, ensuring fleets stay connected and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure GPS, ELD, telematics, dash cameras, and sensor systems on a variety of fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Test cellular connectivity, camera functionality, and overall system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, connectivity, and installation issues on‑site.
• Document each installation with photos, device details, and service notes.
• Travel to customer locations for mobile installations and project support.
• Maintain strict safety and quality standards, aiming for right‑first‑time installations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in automotive repair, electrical work, diesel or heavy‑duty mechanics, or vehicle up‑fitting.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new fleet‑technology systems quickly.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and accurate workmanship.
• Willingness to travel to various fleet sites.
