Audit Director – Asset Management

About the role

This senior leadership position sits within Grant Thornton Cayman’s audit practice, focusing on the International Funds team. You will direct audits for a portfolio of fund entities and play a key part in the firm’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and lead audits for a portfolio primarily consisting of fund entities.
• Engage with clients, responding promptly to their needs and providing technical audit, accounting, and business‑process advice.
• Inspire and develop audit teams, fostering professional growth at all levels.
• Drive new business through firm‑wide development activities and personal industry networks.
• Contribute to firm management by improving people, processes, and approaches.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA / ACA / ACCA / CPA with a minimum of 8 + years of international funds experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven record of attracting, hiring, retaining, and leading an audit team.
• Experience in a top‑5 audit firm is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in US GAAP.
• Proficiency in IFRS.
• Knowledge of ISA standards.
• Knowledge of US GAAS standards.
