Airport Development Manager

About the role

The Airport Development Manager leads a team of planners and project managers to oversee the utilisation and development of airport infrastructure at Owen Roberts International Airport and Charles Kirkconnell International Airport, ensuring aerodrome safety, aviation security and a high level of service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, design and delivery of airport capital projects and master plans.
• Manage design professionals, technical consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with ICAO and local regulations.
• Develop policies, procedures and standards for capital improvement projects and maintain an up‑to‑date library of infrastructure records.
• Prepare business cases, tenders and procurement documents, and negotiate contracts in line with the Public Management and Finance Act.
• Monitor project budgets, produce regular reports for senior leadership and advise on technical and budgetary matters.
• Collaborate with commercial, IT, facilities management and airport operations teams to align development activities with operational requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Airport Planning and Management or equivalent professional training.
• At least 10 years of experience in airport planning and capital improvement programmes, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
• Proven experience applying project management principles to architectural, engineering, quantity surveying and construction contracts.
• Familiarity with ICAO standards, Air Safety Support International guidelines and local civil aviation regulations.
