Water Resources CAD Technician

About the role

Join a leading transportation firm as a Water Resources CAD Technician, supporting the design and delivery of stormwater, drainage, and water‑resources projects. You will gain hands‑on experience from day one while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop CAD drawings, plans, and construction documents for water‑resources and drainage projects under the guidance of Professional Engineers.
• Design stormwater management systems, storm sewer networks, culverts, detention/retention facilities, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare accurate plan sheets, profiles, cross‑sections, and quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate grading, drainage layouts, and utility integration within design models.
• Assist with permit exhibits, agency submittals, field reviews, site data collection, and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2+ years of CAD experience in water‑resources, drainage, or civil/transportation projects.
• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Detail‑oriented with strong technical and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and civil design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Understanding of drainage and water‑resources design principles and plan production standards.
• Competence in spreadsheets and word‑processing applications.
