Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will support Scotiabank’s Finance Department in the Cayman Islands, ensuring the execution of financial plans, reporting and analysis that align with the bank’s strategic objectives. This role combines oversight of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance with local accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver the monthly reporting package, reviewing trial balances, analytics and commentary, and monitor internal and external financial results for accuracy.
• Lead the annual profit planning and monthly forecasting processes, highlighting variances, developing action plans and ensuring effective expense controls.
• Maintain compliance with local accounting, taxation and IFRS requirements, implement policy changes and support complex transaction accounting.
• Provide leadership by coaching team members, fostering a customer‑focused culture and driving process‑improvement and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CGA, CPA).
• Minimum five years of experience in a finance role, preferably within banking.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience using banking application systems and MIS reporting tools.
