Behavior Technician (RBT and IBT credential)

About the role

The Behavior Technician provides direct behavioral and instructional support to students under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role focuses on implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, supporting skill development, and promoting positive behavior in an inclusive learning environment. Collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families ensures consistent and effective support.

Key responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs as designed by the BCBA.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support using push‑in and pull‑out models.
• Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and progress, sharing it with the supervising BCBA.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure consistency of strategies.
• Support students’ academic engagement, promote positive behavior, and supervise them during classes and transitions.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical guidelines, and complete required professional development.

Required profile

• Behavior Technician (RBT or IBT) certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in education, psychology, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working with children who have behavioral or learning needs.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
• Ability to follow behavior plans and implement interventions accurately.
• Strong observational and data‑collection skills.
