Associate – Insurance (Cayman Islands)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading international law firm to hire an experienced Associate for its growing Insurance practice in the Cayman Islands. This role offers the chance to work on complex, cross‑border insurance and regulatory matters for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on Cayman insurance and reinsurance matters, covering regulatory, transactional, and corporate issues.
• Support M&A transactions, restructurings, portfolio transfers, and insurance‑linked securities matters.
• Draft and negotiate a range of legal and transactional documents.
• Manage day‑to‑day client relationships and deliver practical, commercial legal advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions on complex cross‑border matters.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and thought‑leadership activities.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer in the Cayman Islands or another Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Approximately 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience gained within a top‑tier international or leading offshore law firm.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and client‑management skills.
• Insurance and financial services regulatory experience preferred.
