Director - Captive & Insurance Management

About the role
The Director will provide strategic leadership, client oversight and commercial direction across a portfolio of Cayman‑domiciled captive and reinsurance clients. Based in Grand Cayman, the role involves regular client engagement, regulatory interaction and collaboration with Aon’s global network.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as lead relationship manager for captive and reinsurance clients, overseeing strategy, operations, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client executives, brokers, reinsurers, regulators, service providers and Aon’s global stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on commercial reinsurance, risk‑financing structures, renewals, regulatory requirements and business strategy.
- Lead and develop client service teams to deliver exceptional outcomes and service excellence.
- Drive business development, identify new opportunities and represent Aon Cayman at industry events and conferences.
- Contribute to financial performance, budgeting, forecasting and achievement of business objectives.
- Support regulatory compliance activities, including engagement with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).
Required profile
- Professional accounting or insurance qualification such as ACII, CPCU, CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in insurance or reinsurance, with deep captive management expertise.
- Strong knowledge of commercial reinsurance, alternative risk structures and Cayman regulatory requirements.
- Proven business development track record, originating and converting new opportunities.
- Leadership, relationship‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills in a client‑focused environment.
