Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Fetal Medicine Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with a strong focus on Fetal Medicine to join a state‑of‑the‑art private hospital on a Caribbean island. The role offers the chance to lead high‑risk maternity care in a modern, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑led obstetric and gynaecological care to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Lead assessment and management of high‑risk pregnancies, including maternal and fetal complications.
• Perform and interpret advanced fetal ultrasound examinations, detailed anomaly scans, fetal growth assessments and Doppler studies.
• Diagnose and manage complex fetal conditions and deliver antenatal counselling.
• Collaborate with neonatology, paediatrics, anaesthesia, radiology, genetics and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct obstetric and gynaecological procedures, including elective and emergency caesarean sections.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior medical staff, midwives and allied health professionals.
• Participate in on‑call rota, clinical governance, quality improvement and audit activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Board certification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
• Significant post‑training consultant experience, especially in high‑risk pregnancy care.
• Eligibility for medical registration in the Cayman Islands (provisional registration available for qualified applicants from listed countries).
• Strong communication, leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
